Langdon. He married Emeline Corbly on January 15, 1867 at the home of her father's
in Mt. Washington. His second wife was Sydnie Edward in which he married on
December 1, 1875.
He joined the Union army at Lexington, Kentucky before his 23rd birthday and was
officially appointed as Assistant Surgeon to the Seventy-Nineth Regiment, Ohio
Volunteer Infantry on August 15, 1862. On February 5, 1863 he was appointed Full
Surgeon. He served under General Sherman's command and served until the end of
the war.
He then went to practice with Dr. Elston in Linwood and eventually bought the house
and a small cottage that he used as his office. He married Emeline at the age of 27
and together they had five children:
Chester Stebbin Langdon (Sept. 5, 1867 - July 20, 1868; buried at Mt. Washington,
Hamilton Co., Ohio)
Clara Langdon (May 5, 1869 - Dec. 7, 1874; buried at Mt. Washington, Hamilton Co.,

The first born, Chester, was born in 1867 and died in 1868. Twin boys were born to
them in June of 1874 but tragically Emiline passed away just two weeks later. Their
third child, Annie, passed away at the age of 4 in October of 1874 as did one of the
twins who was only 4 months of age. In December of the same year, Clara died at the
age of 5. It was presumed the children all died of diptheria.
Henry married his second wife, Sydnie Edward, on December 1, 1875 and became the
mother to the sole remaining child, William (Willie). This was a short lived union for the
new family for five months after the married he died from a brain hemorrhage.
His surviving son, William went on to join the Marine Corps as a 1st. Lt. with the
medical detachment 158 Dep Brig. He was also a civilian physician in Mt. Washington,
graduating from Miami College.
