Obit from NY Times 1892: John R Foley, a real estate broker of this
city, died suddenly of apoplexy at the Iroquois Hotel, Buffalo, on
Monday afternoon, in the fiftieth year of his age. He had been
attending the convention of real estate dealers at that city.
Mr. Foley was born in Cork, but came to this country when nine years
old. He made a fortune in the oil business, but afterward lost it in
gold speculations. For twenty years he had been engaged in the real
estate business and was one of the founders of the Real Estate
Exchange. He was a stanch Democrat and a member of the Harlem
Democratic Club and the Sagamore and Jefferson Clubs. He also was a
member of the Catholic Church.
Mr. Foley leaves a wife, three sons -- John R. Foley, Jr., Oscar L.
Foley, and George W. Foley -- and one daughter, Marie.

obit in 14 Oct 1892 NY Herald: repeats most of what is in other obit,
adds "Years ago, when Harlem property became a conspicuous feature in
the market, it was Mr. Foley who opened the first large real estate
branch office in 125th street. Mr. Foley belonged to many uptown clubs
and was especially well known in Washington, where he closed many real
estate transactions." Another obit asks Washington and Phila papers to
copy.

George Foley. Who is he?
