Daniel graduated from Phoenixville High School. He received a full football
scholarship from Tampa University in Tampa, Fla., and in 1953 was named the Most
Valuable Player in the Cigar Bowl. Daniel was a school teacher and coach in the
Coatesville School District, Coatesville, Pa. He retired from teaching in 1985, but
continues to coach football.
Daniel and Molly are divorced.
Daniel resides at Beaver Creek Rd., Coatesville, Pa.

Daniel D. Scaringi, 74, of Coatesville died peacefully Saturday, August 20, 2005 at
Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home, Narvon.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jennie Zappone Scaringi.
Daniel was a 1949 graduate of Phoenixville High School and a 1953 graduate of the
University of Tampa with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. While attending the
University of Tampa, he played football on offense and defense and was awarded the
Outstanding Player in the "Cigar Bowl."
He was a health and physical education teacher at North Brandywine Junior High
School, retiring in 1986 with 25 years of service. While at North Brandywine, he was
the athletic director and coached football and basketball. He also was the offensive
backfield coach for the varsity high school team during the 1960s.
Additionally, he was the Recreation and Parks Director for the City of Coatesville
during the 1960s and 1970s. He enjoyed attending the Coatesville Senior Center.
He is survived by two sons, Michael A. Scaringi, husband of Mary, of Coatesville; T.
Daniel Scaringi, husband of Marilyn, of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Denise M.,
wife of Norm Smith, of Honey Brook; two sisters, Theresa Yednock, of Phoenixville,
and Dolores Hess, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Louis Scaringi, of Bowie, Md.; and
seven grandchildren, Jason, Jared and Jenna Castaldi, Alexandria Mount, Danielle,
Cary, Kevin and Dylan Scaringi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2005 at
St. Cecilia Church, 6th Ave. and Chestnut Sts., Coatesville.
Family and friends may call to pay their respects from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 26,
2005 at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville and
on Saturday, August 27 from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Coatesville Senior Center, 22 N. 5th
Ave., Coatesville, PA 19320 or Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home, 2499 Zerbe Road,
Narvon, PA 17555.
