Carmela graduated from Phoenixville High School, where she was the first student of 
Italian descent to be graduated with high honors. Carmela then worked for the 
government in the admissions department of Pennhurst State School. In 1957, Carmela 
began working as secretary and housekeeper of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in 
Phoenixville, Pa.; at present she works there part-time. In 1962 she became a member 
of the Legion of Mary, a spiritual organization, and has held office as President, 
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer; at present she is again serving as President 
for the next four years. Through this organization, she helps the invalids and sick in 
whatever help they need, dedicating them to the Blessed Mother and visting the 
hospitals and nursing homes every week. On Dec. 15, 1985, Carmela was made a 
Eucharistic minister.
Carmela resides at 234 Marshall St., Phoenixville, Pa.
