CORNISH, Martha  (widow of Francis Swaine) -  25 May 1669:  Old Norfolk County, 
Massachusetts, now Essex County: Martha Leverich and her husband Caleb Leverich 
confirm a letter written 20 October 1662 by Martha's late husband Francis Swaine 
which granted land in Hampton and Exeter to his sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth 
and Nathaniel Weare; Newtown Town Records: first reference to Martha Leverich: 11 
December 1672: witness to deed with father-in-law;  10 October 1689:  first mention of 
"Caleb Leverich and wife Martha";  1 April 1718: at a public town meeting, voted that 
Widow Leverich shall be free from paying any rates in the town from this time forever
