came to Long Island with his father in 1668 and acquired much land in various 
sections of the town of Newtown, enjoyed the prestige of the citizens, and was one of 
the original members of the Presbyterian Church in the town.

2-LEVERICH, Caleb [2]   -  Oyster Bay, then Queens County (now Nassau County), 
and Huntington, Suffolk County, New York;  Farmer and Freeholder, Newtown, Queens 
County, Long Island, New York; 18 April 1660: deposition by Caleb re litigation 
between his father and Henry Whitney recorded in Huntington Court Records; 
Huntington Town Records: 20 April 1669: witness to deed executed by his father; 
Newtown Town Records: earliest reference 24 February 1664;  1666 Rate list 
Newtown; 1683 Rate List Newtown; 24 September 1686: list of freeholders;  1 May 
1693: Caleb mentioned as son of William; 24 April 1694: Caleb grants one half of his 
purchase right to son John;  6 February 1695:  Caleb witness to deed executed by 
John Leverich to his "well respected uncle" Benjamin Cornish;   4 May 1705:  Caleb 
Leverich granted land to widow Hannah Leverich and her children, the heirs of 
Caleb's deceased son John; 19 January 1710/711:  Whereas Caleb Leverich and 
Martha his wife did convey on 3 July 1706 to their son-in-law Job Wright, Bricklayer 
and their daughter Eleanor certain lands, now therefore the said Eleanor and her 
husband Joseph Reeder Jr, Blacksmith, make over their share to the said Job Wright; 
20 September 1715: Caleb deeds land to Philip Ketcham
