Robert must have married again, as his daughter Lucy was born 24 March 1278/9 (h). 
He died s.p.m. and v.p. before 1284. [Complete Peerage XII/1:739, (transcribed by

(h) L'Anson says that Robert had a mistress "Matilda", daughter of Sir Robert 
Hansard, by whom he had 2 sons, Marmaduke and Robert, priest. J.W. Ord states that 
"Matilda" was Robert's only wife and mother of Lucy. She may have been Robert's 
2nd wife and mother of Lucy. His heir was his daughter Lucy, who obtained the lands 
which the Thwengs had inherited from Lucy de Brus.
