I originally, speculatively, had Robert as son of Sir Richard Hansard, but the following
email from Simon Young indicated a better choice, which is supported by the descent
of the Manor of Bozeat:

to me
Hi,
You show the grandfather of Maud Hansard as Sir Richard Hansard but do not give
any source for this and I think imply that this is pure speculation. I would be interested
in any reasons you might have, as my speculation is that he was John Hansard c1205
-c1253, who married Maud ,dr of William Mowbray. My reasons for this are---
[1] John is known to have had a son Robert as well as his son and heir Gilbert.
[2] This Robert would be exactly contemporaneous with Maud's father
[3] It would be fairly standard practise for Robert to name his dr after his mother.
[4] John held a fee in Bozeat Northants possibly by right of his wife.
[5] In 1275 Robert de Thweng claimed frankpledge for the manor of Bozeat,
Northants.
While this is not conclusive, it is highly suggestive. Still you may have a better case.
regards
Simon
