EARLDOM OF BUCKINGHAM (I) 1097?

Walter Giffard, Lord of Longuevilles in Normandy, son and heir of Walter Giffard, Lord
of Longueville [who accompanied the Conqueror in the Norman invasion, 1066], by
Ermengarde, sister of William, Bishop of Evreux, daughter of Gerald Flaitel, succeeded
his father [who had received grants of no less than 107 lordships, of which 48 were in
Bucks] before 1085, when he was Justiciar of England, and was created, in all
probability by William II after 1093, EARL of BUCKINGHAM, though known
contemporarily as Earl Giffard.

He married Agnes, sister of Anselm de Ribemont. He died 15 July 1102, in England,
