Hap and Grandpa Maule owned and worked a gold mine during the depression years 
near Frazier Park, California.  The Maule family built a new home in Ocean Park, 
California, and employed several people to clean, cook, keep a vegetable garden, 
grounds, and home.

  The Maule family used to backpack by horse in the Sierra Mountains every year.  In 
his later life, Bert built a wooden camper onto a truck for more adventure.  Bert was a 
champion golfer.  Florine was ahead of her time as a naturalist for conservation.  
Bringing social life, concerts, community service to the entire beach area is her 
legacy.
