1981 book:
Azariah was sent to live with his uncle Ebenezer Maule (1E75) when his parents Jacob 
and Margaret (Lewis) Maule separated in 1827 or 1828. In 1833, Azariah went to 
Phila., Pa., and learned the trade of house painter.
Susannah was a Presbyterian and became a member of the Religious Society of 
Friends before marrying Azariah.
	Azariah and Susannah went to St. Louis, Mo., shortly after their marriage, 
but stayed only several years before moving to Napels, Ill., and then Joliet. Ill. While 
they were living in Joliet, Azariah's mother Margaret visited them and convinced them 
to move to Ohio, which they did in 1845. In Ohio, they lived successively in Akron, 
Talmadge, Sharon, and Cleveland. Shortly after Azariah and his family moved to Ohio, 
Margaret, Azariah's mother, purchased a farm for him. There apparently was a 
"problem" between Azariah and Margaret, on the one hand, and Jacob, Azariah's 
father, on the other. Suddenly, 18 months after she purchased the farm, Margaret sold 
it and returned to Newtown Square, Pa., with the sale proceeds.
 Jane was a schoolteacher and a tailor.
Azariah later moved to Crawford, Mo., where his son Levi lived.
