"Baptismal Record of Palma [no surname given]
[Number] 59, 14 April 1741, Angelo Natale and Carmina Venile brought a female infant 
to be baptized whom they received from the “Napolitano Annunziata” [Founding home 
in Napoli], to whom they give the name Palma [see Attachment 10]. FN10
COMMENTS: Esposito is a designation when given to an abandoned child, not a 
surname. However, many times abandoned children were not given surnames at all 
and the generic designations like Esposito and Trovato served in their stead. Legally, 
she was just Palma. If this couple were adopting her at this time then the record would 
likely show her taking the Natale surname. It does not, which intimates they were to 
foster this child. Only her date of baptism is given, not her date of birth.

marr rec raised by deceased Angelo Natale and living Carmina Venile. Palma was from 
Annunziata Napoletano (founding home in Naples)

Note to self: age in death record suggests birth in 1731, but baptism record in 1741  is 
in conflict. It is unlikely the baptism would have been delayed until age 10. Thus, the 
age in the death record likely is incorrect.
