ROMEO, GLORIA SABATINI Gloria Sabatini Romeo, age 78, of Birmingham, passed 
away on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Hospice of West Alabama after a long battle 
with Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Jo 
Sabatini; her husband, Anthony Romeo, Jr.; and her son, Tony Romeo. She is 
survived by her daughter, Mary Romeo Young (Ron) of Tuscaloosa and grandchildren, 
Jonathan Young and Geoffrey Young of Tuscaloosa and Stephanie Romeo of 
Birmingham. Gloria graduated from Woodlawn High School and the University of 
Alabama with a degree in Chemistry. She was a cheerleader while attending the 
University and a member of Mortar Board. She was the co-owner of Romeo Drug Co. 
and later worked at Baptist Montclair Hospital. She was a member of St. Francis 
Xavier Catholic Church. Gloria touched many lives with her generosity and loving spirit 
and had a positive influence, not only on her own children but on extended family 
members and her many friends. She was fun loving, full of life and an inspiration to all. 
She had a dynamic personality and was able to motivate and encourage everyone 
around her. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly 
missed. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Frances Xavier Catholic 
Church, Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. the family will receive friends from 
12:00 until 1:00 at the church. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials to 
Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
