MRS. WILLIAM PAUL PICKARD SR., of 1912 Oxmoor Road, died Saturday. A lifelong 
Birmingham resident, Mrs. Pickard was the widow of the former president of City 
Wholesale Grocery Company and the Southern Democratic Club. She was a past 
president of the Queen Helen Society and the Southern Democratic Club Auxiliary, 
and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Altar Society. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. 
Sunday at Valley Chapel. Funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Monday at Valley Chapel and at 
9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with burial in Elmwood. Survivors 
include a son, William Paul Pickard, Jr., and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Pilato and 
Mrs. Samuel Alfano, all of Birmingham.
