RETIRED RECEPTIONIST, 82 Marie Rebecca Rodia, 82, of Springfield, a retired
receptionist, died of a stroke Saturday at Mercy Haverford Hospital.
Mrs. Rodia was born and raised in South Philadelphia and graduated from South
Philadelphia High School for Girls. She worked for about 20 years as a receptionist for
the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society in Philadelphia. She retired from there three
years ago.
Mrs. Rodia had lived in Springfield for 44 years and was a member there of St. Kevin's
Roman Catholic Church.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing.
Her husband of about 45 years, Frank Rodia Sr., died in 1984.
She is survived by children Letitia Cunningham, Rachel Burke, Francine Wolf and
Frank Jr.; two brothers; and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call after 7 tonight and at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Kovacs Funeral
Home, 530 Woodland Ave., Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m.
tomorrow at St. Kevin's Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield. Burial will be in SS.
Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.
The family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the American Heart
Association, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Building A-100, Conshohocken, Pa. 19428.
