There is another Jane Dormer b c 1527 of Hayle, Buckinghamshire, dtr of William 
Dormer and Mary Sydney (and who married Don Gomez Suarez, prob one of the 
Spanish nobles who accompanied Philip to England). Some records also show this 
William as having two wives, Mary Sydney and Dorothy Catesby. Mary Sydney clearly 
is the mother of Jane who married Don Gomez Suarez. Are there two Williams? Could 
there be two dtrs named Jane via 2 different mothers?
THe Dormers were an important Buckinghamshire family with properties in Quainton 
and other places. They were related to the Crokers of Oxfordshire, of whom one was 
high sherriff of that county.
But note that Dorothy's mother is Jane, for whom Jane must have been named.
