Before 1243, Gerard de Grenville granted land to Walter de Burgh, who later did 
become Earl of Ulster. [Ronny Bodine, citing Collins Peerage, 5th Edition, 5:23]

NOTE: I think that Walter Burgh, Earl of Ulster, was about 13 years old in 1243, so 
probably Collins was wrong. It was probably Walter de Burgh who held lands in 
Chilton, of Robert de Grenville in 1236 & 1237. See notes for John de Grenville, d.
