Is he William Hartshorne, b 9 Apr 1615 St Mary's, Leicester, England, son of Thomas 
and Elizabeth (Page) Hartshorne? According to an IGI entry on familysearch, he was 
married to Alice 18 Feb 1635/6 at Thorpe Acre and Dishley, Leicestershire (which is a 
mile southeast of Hathern).
Or William Hartshorne, chr 2 Jan 1619 St Mary's Leicester, England, son of William 
Hartshorne and Alice Gorton? (if so, they were married 30 Sep 1604 at St Marys).  But 
another record shows marriage as about 1615. There is a marriage of a William 
Hartshorne to an Hellin Yorcke 27 Nov 1615 St Mary, Leicester. Date fits. Name?
The birth in 1619 to a William and Alice (Gorton) Hartshorne won't fit a marrige of 
William to an Alice Gorton in 1636

Richard's oldest sister's birth, tied to that website cited below, shown as dtr of William 
and Alice Gorton. She died as infant, another Ann born in 1617 also at St. Marys. 
Ditto for next child Henry (died age 4). Ditto for Edward, born 20 years later.

1655 St Marys Leicestershire) and Elizabeth Page (b c 1590 of Leicestershire, bur 26

1627, Marye 19 Oct 1628, George 1 May 1631. all  b St Marys Leicestershire These 
names all fit the family. Note that Richard had children Thomas, Mary, Katherine, etc 
Problem is that William, father of Richard 1641, supposedly had children from 1616 
through 1641, but there is a gap from 1629 to 1637. If so, then William would be a 
brother of Thomas. Hmmm.

Several ancestry entries and a familysearch entry show his father as a William. Per 
homepages.rootsweb.com/~marshall/esmd102.htm, Richard was the youngest child 
and the oldest, Ann was born in 1616. So... naming suggests parents of William and 
his wife were Ann, Henry, Elizabeth, and Hugh.

That means William was born about 1590-95, and HIS parents b c 1570
