MANORS of Roxton (Rokesden)

The principal holder of land in this parish in 1086 was William Spec, who held 
ROXTON MANOR assessed at 8 hides and 3 virgates. Like other of William Spec's 
land this manor is later found held of the barony of Trailly. As in the case of 
Biddenham the Trailly interest in this parish was later attached to the honour of 
Gloucester, of which mention has been found as late as 1518. From: 'Parishes:
