Westmorland, spinster, to Edward Wainhouse of Birkby in Cartmell, yeoman, in respect 
of 12lb S.W. indemnifies E.W. against her claim under conveyance by her dec'd father 
John W. of Birkby, yeoman, on 5 Jun 1654 of a close in Birkby called Stubbinflatt 
(4ac) to trustees for benefit of himself and and Bridget his wife for life, then for their 
daughters S.W. Anne wife of William Singleton and Elizabeth Foxe.
Also Conveyance Christopher Gardner of Urswicke, Edward Wainhouse of Birkbye, 
senior, and Thomas Michaelson of Greenbanke in Cartmell, yeoman, to Edward son of 
E.W., bachelor -- part of close at E. end of Arthur Fell close in Cartmell, pursuant to 
will of John Bateman, 9 Aug 1697 [so is this a reference to the Edward, son of Edward 
and Agnes who was born 1698 or so, d 1703?]
