ROBERT DE STAFFORD, son and heir, in 1184-85 was defendant in a suit for land in 
co. Stafford. In 1190 he had gone to Jerusalem; and he is entered as accountable for 
scutage until 1193. He died in 1193 or 1194 (before 29 September). He married 
Basilia, who was still living in 1220-21. [Complete Peerage XII/1:169, (transcribed by
