Robert de Hilton

Robert de Hilton was born before 1335, the son of Alexander de Hilton and Alice. He 
married Alionore de Felton and they had a son -

BARONY OF HYLTON (IV) 1361

ROBERT (DE HILTON), LORD HILTON, son and heir by 1st wife, was of full age at his 
father's death. On 10 January 1356/7 he had licence from Henry de Percy, as Robert 
de Hilton, eldest son of Alexander de Hilton, to make a millpond. As Robert de Hilton, 
Knight, he was a feoffee in 1364/5.

He married Alianore, elder sister and, in her issue, coheir of Sir William DE FELTON, 
of Edlingham, Northumberland (who was slain at Vitoria in Biscaya, 20 March 1366/7, 
and daughter of Sir William DE FELTON, of the same, by his 1st wife, whose name is 
unknown. He died shortly before 27 May 1370, and was buried in Hilton Chapel.
