OHN MAUTRAVERS, whom we suppose to be son and heir of John abovenamed, 
stands at the head of the ascertained pedigree. In 1172 he fined to have seisin of his 
land and 4 knights' fees in Dorset, and held a knight's fee in Berks. By his 1st wife, 
Alice, daughter and coheir of Roger FITZGEOFFREY, he had issue Walter and John; 
by his second wife, Alice DE BENDEVILLE, Thomas and William. [Complete Peerage

Note: According to the chart in CP on page VIII:580, Alice de Bendeville m. 2nd 
Walter de Turberville, and had a son possibly named Bartholomew.
