Note: JOHN MAUTRAVERS, son and heir, was under age in 1222. He was in the 
King's service in 1229/30; in 1242 was summoned for service in Guienne; and was 
serving in Wales 1244-46. In 1256 and 1257 he was in Ireland in the service of Prince 
Edward, and in July 1256 had a respite from taking up knighthood till the followin 
summer. With other property this John held 2 1/2 fees in Somerford Wilts, and 
presented to that church in the time of Henry III. [Complete Peerage VIII:578-9,
