transferred to Geoffrey Nevill. Negotiated for return but died before anything done.

Note: Simon de Kyme, in the 21st Henry II [1175], was indebted to the crown in the
sum of forty marks as a fine for not disclaiming his right to certain lands after he had
lost them upon a trial by battle. In the reign of John, he took up arms with the barons
and was excommunicated by the pope, when his lands were all seized and transferred
to Geoffrey Nevill. He subsequently negotiated for their restoration, but d. before
anything effectual in the matter could be accomplished. He d. in 1219 and was s. by
