it says his mother is Margaret Hastings (extensive ancestry linking into many existing 
ancestors) but the dates don't fit and there's no way to make them fit. It could be that 
she is the mother of Elizabeth's BROTHER Gilbert Debenham, which would make the 
dates fit perfectly, and fits with the statement in 
www.freewebs.com/powys/pl_tree/ps27/ps27_036.htm that Margaret Hastings was 
not married (hence mistress of Gilbert the father of Elizabeth). Hmmmm
