Ed graduated from Northeast Catholic High School, Phila., Pa., where he was a member of the school band. Some of the band stayed together for twenty years, entertaining at various events as the "Serenaders". During World War Two, Ed worked at the Quartermaster Depot, and after the war became an insurance adjuster with Titman & Moon, Phila., Pa. When that firm went out of business, Ed took a position with State Farm Insurance Companies, Springfield, Pa., where he held the position of regional automobile insurance superintendent when he retired in February, 1986.
On Apr. 27, 1946, at Good Shepherd Church in Philadelphia, Pa., Ed married Jennie Elisabeth Zappone, daughter of Anthony and Rosalina (Rodia) Zappone. Jennie was born on Jan. 28, 1925, in Phila., Pa. Jennie graduated from John Bartram High School, Phila., Pa., and worked for the Quartermaster Depot in Philadelphia during World War Two. Jennie has been active in volunteer activities and also worked many years as a secretary for a State Farm insurance agent. Ed and Jennie have four children:
