DONIO, CARMINE "KNUTE" 90 - of Hammonton, passed away peacefully at home on Sat, January 23, 
2010. Knute was one of 14 children born to Samuel and Anna Donio. He was predeceased by his wife of 47 
years Teresa in 2001. He was also predeceased by brothers Frank, Tony, Jack, and Salvatore "Buddy" and 
sisters Lucy Capuano, Jenny Bianchi, Margaret Donio, Mary Perna, Pauline Ferraro and Kate DeBlase. 
Knute is survived by his loving family, Jeanne (Thomas) Gorcznski, Michael (Annette) Donio, his daughter 
and son, and grandchildren, Thomas and Jamie Gorcznski, Alena, Dennis and Michael Donio, sisters Ann 
Prejean, Edith Donio, and Gloria Cappuccio. Upon graduation from Hammonton High School, where he 
played baseball and football, he attended Pierce Business School. He served in the US Army during WWII 
until his honorable discharge as a Master Sergent. Knute worked in the fruit and produce business, with his 
brother Frank, known as Frank Donio, Inc. He was with the company for 42 years, and served as President 
from 1973 until his retirement in 1990. He was involved in numerous organizations promoting the produce 
industry in New Jersey including The United Fruit and Vegetable Association where he served a term as 
president and was the recipient of their award for his outstanding contributions in 1985. Knute was also a 
member of the American Legion of Hammonton and a founding member of the St. Joseph High School 
Booster Club. Knute was always supportive of his children and grandchildrens academic, athletic and 
career pursuits. He was an avid Phillies fan and a season ticket holder since 1975. 

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Church, N. 3rd Street, Hammonton from 6 to 
9 PM and on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 
celebrated on Wed, January 27, 2010 at 10 AM. Interment Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. 
Arrangements are by the Landolfi Funeral Home, 237 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton. Memorial donations in 
Knutes memory can be made to Childrens Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 827790, Phila, Pa., 19182-7790 
or St. Joseph High School, N. 3rd St., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
