Marie was born in New York City and lived in Great Neck, Long Island
and Washington, D.C. before retiring to the Brant Beach section of Long
Beach Island, NJ in 1988. Prior to her retirement she worked for United
Press International. While there, she helped cover many national and
international events including many of the Olympics, Democratic and
Republican Conventions and the wedding of Princess Diana. She moved to
the Atlantic Hills section of Stafford Township in 2005.
A lover of romance novels and good mysteries, she had an extensive
library and was always happy to recommend an author. She had a
wonderful sense of humor and a smile that could light up a room. She
collected Wedgwood Jasperware and crystal wine decanters, and at
Christmas would display her collection of Snoopy holiday plates along
with the stories of how many were gifts from her favorite politicians.
She battled cancer twice in her life, and volunteered as a support
person or driver for medical treatments for those who could not drive
themselves. She always thought of others first and was the sweetest
lady i have ever had the pleasure to call my friend. Marie passed
suddenly at her residence leaving a daughter Blanche, granddaughter
Andrea, brother John , nephew Michael and many, many friends who were
her extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward T. Majeski in 1988. She spoke
lovingly of him and their fabulous life together and would often say
that he treated her like a queen and that she owed her love of travel
and literature to his influence.
I miss you dear friend, and loved you very much.
