New Yorker "Talk of the Town" article by E.J.Kahn, 29 Mar 1941. It begins:
ABSTRACT: Talk story about Audrey Peppe, one of the two most distinguished
feminine figure skaters native to N. Y. C., the other being her aunt Beatrix Loughran.
Miss Peppe has never been a champion herself, but before turning professional last
year, she came reasonably near it. She was picked for the Olympic Games of 1936 in
Germany and finised 12th out of a field of 25, which was regarded remarkable for a girl
in her teens. She is now twenty-three and married to David Benner, manager of the
tourist lodge at Sun Valley. Her mother who became tired of sitting around watching
Audrey skate in carnivals took up skating
four years ago. Miss Peppe hasappeared in every Skating Club Carnival since she was
ten. Tells about her training as a bellet dancer and skater.
Per www.sunvalleyrealestate.info, she was hired to promote ice skating at Sun Valley.
