Peter Kovalsky, 82, of North Belle Vernon, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at 1:15 p.m. 
in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born March 6, 1921, in Monessen, a son of the late 
Andrew and Anna Sovich Kovalsky. He was a resident of North Belle Vernon for the 
past 48 years. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, he was retired from 
the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Plant where he worked as an exhaust 
engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the 
Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, Greek Catholic Union and was an avid bocci 
player at the Belle Vernon American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mary Maguire 
Kovalsky, whom he was married to for 48 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Pete 
and Linda Kovalsky of Mt. Pleasant, and Hugh and Lou Ann Kovalsky of Belle Vernon; 
two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Igoe of South Hills, and Rose and Mark 
Souply of Fayette City; five grandsons, David Igoe, Matthew and Pete Kovalsky, Adam 
and Aaron Souply, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elizabeth Snyder of Monessen, 
and Irene and Leonard Babinski of Monessen. He was preceded in death by one son, 
Francis Joseph Kovalsky in 1957; three brothers, Stephen Kovalsky, John Kovalsky, 
and Andrew Kovalsky; two sisters, Helen Kovalsky, and Margaret Chiprich. Visitation 
will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI 
FUNERAL HOME, Family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-
929-6183. Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, 
followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. 
Internment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services will be held. Members of 
St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Peter Kovalsky 
Sunday at 3 p.m. and the Belle Vernon American Legion will conduct services Sunday 
at 7 p.m., both in the funeral home. As a convenience to the family, condolences are
