attended Friends School of Providence RI now Moses Brown School. At 17 became 
office boy for Edward Harris. With Harris for 50 plus years other than trip to California 
as a forty niner. Became secretary and confidential asst to Harris, and after Harris 
died he continued with Harris Woolen Co. Prominent in banking, director of National 
Globe Bank, president of that bank for 4 years. Trustee and member of board of 
investment of Mechanics Savings Bank of Woonsocket. Director of Citizens National 
Bank, First National Bank, National Union Bank, and trustee of People's Savings 
Bank, all of Woonsocket. Represented teh Consolidated School district in 
Woonsocket, 1899 member of first Common Council for Woonsocket after it became a 
city. From 1859 kept a daily meteorlogical log.
