PALM CITY -Caroline Marshall Adair , 68, died Wednesday, October 9th [2012] in 
Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.

Born in New York, NY, she grew up in Grenwich, CT. In her married life she lived in 
Washington, DC.,Virginia, Brazil, Belgium, France,Argentina, Panama & Uruguay. She 
has been a resident of Stuart for 25 years. Always active in her community, Caroline 
worked for many years with the Friends of Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie Counties. The 
Association for the Mentally Ill, Second Sight Taping Studio for the Blind, and St. 
Mary's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her husband Charles W. Adair , Jr., former American Ambassador to 
Panama and Uruguay; her son, Marshall P. Adair , currently serving in the Dept. of 
State in Washington, DC.; two daughters, Caroline Adair Finn of Silver Spring, MD, 
Sarah Adair Shaps of London, England; six grandchildren, Charles W. Adair III, Anna 
Donovan Finn, Daniel Marshall Finn, Eleanor Adair Shaps, Benjamin Marshall Shaps, 
Caroline Lee Shaps; and one sister Adelaide M. Donnan of Wilson, WY.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Stuart, with the Rev. 
Thomas Pittenger, officiating on Sunday October 13th at2 P.M
