1981 book:
George graduated from Yale University.  He joined the Cincinnati Times-Star as a 
reporter, covering the Chamber of Commerce, the public library, key civic associations 
and hotel guests.  On Jan. 23, 1937, his story about the great Cincinnati flood was the 
headline story; the story was picked up by the Associated Press.  George is an editor. 
He edited and captioned "Cincinnati in Bronze".
In 1981, George and Martha lived at 3824 Broadview Dr., Cincinnati, Ohio 45208.

80, of Hyde Park, a former reporter and associate editor of the Cincinnati Times-Star, 
died Aug. 16. 

"He wrote a weather column, and he could always explain why what the weather 
bureau predicted never happened," said his wife, Martha. 

A man of many interests, Mr. Stimson covered the 1937 flood from a canoe. He 
became the first director of community relations at Children's Hospital in 1958 and 
founded the hospital's newsletter, Pediantics. He later worked for Union Central Life 
Insurance Co. 

He was a member of the Cincinnati Board of Park Commissioners for 13 years and 
served as president from 1966-71. He also served as president of the Cincinnati 
Recreation Commission. 

Mr. Stimson was a member of the Cincinnatus Association, the Literary Club and the 
Dry Dredgers, a geology club. He helped found the Cincinnati Figure Skating Club. 

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, David Stimson of Rochester, N.Y., and 
George Stimson Jr. of Hanford, Calif., and two grandchildren. Memorials: Friends of 
Krohn Conservatory.
