Charles P. Maule, aged 31 years, died at his home at 3963 Q street Sunday, following 
a stroke of apoplexy. He is survived by his wife, his parents, two sisters and five 
brothers. The remains were sent to David City, Neb., for burial.

HAD A STROKE OF APOPLEXY.

C. P. Maule, of Omaha, Died December 8 - Funeral Here.

Charles Penrose Maule, of Omaha, former station agent for the C. & N. W. railroad 
company at Bee, and son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. William Litjen, of David City, died from 
apoplexy at his home on December 8, at 10:25 a. m., following illness of five days. 
The body was brough to David City Monday evening and burial was in St. Mary's 
cemetery Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Funeral service was held in St. Mary's 
Catholic church, only relatives being present, owing to the ban on public meetings. 
Rev. Father Boll conducted the services. The pall-bearers were William Gannon, 
James Kirby, Albert Peters, Peter Vanderheiden, William Zegers and George Zegers.

Mr. Maule's wife and mother, Mrs. Walter Maule, of Omaha, came to attend the 
funeral, as did also Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapin of Garrison.

Mr. Maule saw three years' service in the Spanish-American war and had also enlisted 
for service in the world-war. He enlisted in December, 1917, and was in the 303d 
Signal Corps. Last June when this until went to Camp Dix, N. J., to go overseas, Mr. 
Maule failed to pass the overseas physical examination and was discharged and sent 
home. He carried $10,000 war insurance.

Beaver Crossing was the birthplace of Mr. Maule and his home until he grew to 
manhood. He was born January 30, 1887.

His marriage to Miss Matilda Litjen of David City took place on June 28, 1911, in 
Omaha.

For several years he was station agent for the C. & N. W. railroad company, holding 
stations at Bee and Stafford. He severed his connection with this company two years 
ago when he moved to Omaha.

Surviving him are his wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Maule, two sisters, Misses 
Bessie and Carrie, and five brothers, Fred, Ed, James, Daniel and Donald Maule, all of 
Omaha. Two brothers are in the service, one in France and one in Lincoln. F. M. 
Maule, formerly of David City, was an uncle of C. P. Maule.
