These are portraits of Henry Archer Williams, born on December 4, 1864 to Charles H. 
and Harriett (Langdon) Williams. He was a clerk in the governor's office from 1887-
1897, and an attorney with several Columbus firms. He was assistant Franklin County 
Prosecutor, 1895-8. In 1900 he was appointed supervisor of the census for Franklin, 
Fairfield and Licking counties by President McKinley. He was appointed a national 
bank examiner for the Pittsburgh-Cleveland district by President Taft from 1909-1913. 
He also served as Columbus Public Library Trustee, 1908-9. Henry married Elizabeth 
Lorena Thomas in 1887 and had three sons: Morris Holliday, Langdon Thomas and 
Gordon Early. Henry died on December 5, 1953.
