1981 book:
Penrose was a highly respected farmer. He was a member of Highland Grange and 
Patrons of Husbandry. Penrose also was a flour merchant, at times conducting the 
business with his brother John Sanders Maule (1E858).
   Penrose and Emma were members of the Religious Society of Friends. They lived in 
Bart Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa., after their marriage and thereafter moved to Phila., Pa. 
In the 1870's, they moved to Highland Twp., Chester Co., Pa., and lived there until 
they moved to Parkesburg, Pa., inthe early 1900's.
