George Baker writeup saved from web
disappeared after his father sent him to Vermont to collect the money from the sale of 
his father's farm. Unclear if he absconded with the money or was robbed and 
murdered. But a later report says he went to Philadelphia with the money and became 
immensely rich from speculating.
